Car description

Alfa Romeo Spider

When the legendary Alfa Romeo Duetto 1600 debuted in 1966, it was far more than just an elegant convertible. It embodied the Italian way of life: light, perfectly proportioned, and animated by the spirited sound of its rev-happy twin-cam engine – an Alfa Romeo in its purest form.

For over four decades, the Spider remained a symbol of driving pleasure and style. After the “Roundtail” (Duetto 1600 / 1750 Veloce) and the “Kamm-tail” (2000 Veloce), the third evolutionary stage followed in 1982 – the Series 3 “Aerodinamica.”

This generation introduced subtly modernized lines with discreetly integrated bumpers, a front spoiler and a revised rear section, all without losing the classic Pininfarina charm.

Particularly desirable today are the early examples of this series, built between 1982 and 1985. They still preserve the mechanical heart of the 1970s: the lively 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin-cam engine with dual carburetors, delivering that unmistakable mix of lightness, immediacy and musicality from the exhaust. No electronics, no power assistance – pure, analog driving culture.

These rare transitional models combine the best of two worlds: the purist mechanical engineering of the classic era with the slightly more modern design language of the eighties. A genuine Alfa Romeo that still carries the scent of craftsmanship, petrol and freedom – created to be driven with the top down.

History of the Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 offered here – SSC651

The Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 we are offering originally comes from Switzerland and belongs to the particularly early vehicles of Series 3. In 2019, it was carefully repainted in its original color, black (Nero). Combined with the red interior, the result is an exceptionally harmonious and classically sporty combination, giving the Spider an elegant, almost cinematic presence.

The soft top is in as-new condition, and the overall appearance is outstanding, both visually and mechanically. The car has always been well maintained and regularly driven, without losing its authentic character.

Especially tasteful is the Zender rear spoiler, fitted in place of the factory plastic spoiler and painted in body color – an elegant and sporty solution that accentuates the Spider’s lines beautifully.

The car comes with German registration documents listing two owners and is immediately ready for use – whether as a classic companion for summer drives or as a valuable addition to any collection.

An early Series 3 Spider in this configuration – carburetor version, black exterior, red interior – has become rare today. A true piece of Italian passion that makes you feel, with every mile, why the Alfa Romeo Spider has embodied the essence of la dolce vita for nearly 60 years.

Conclusion

There are automobiles that are more than machinery on wheels – they are a way of life.
This Spider is one of them.

It carries the scent of sun-warmed paint, petrol and espresso.
Its sound speaks of passione and dolce vita, of that lightness that only a true Alfa can convey.

A Spider classico, black like an Italian suit, with a red interior like a glass of Barolo at sunset – the perfect fusion of temperament and style.

It does not need a grand stage, just a winding country road and a driver who understands what they have in their hands. A car for people who do not seek perfection, but emotion.
