Car description

History of the Fiat Dino Spider 2000
The Fiat Dino Spider 2000 was introduced in 1967 as the open-top counterpart to the Coupé, and it represents a particularly fascinating chapter in the history of Italian automotive design. Born from the collaboration between Fiat and Ferrari, the Spider was not only meant to embody sporty elegance but also to homologate the Ferrari V6 engine for Formula 2 racing. The design of the Spider came from the renowned house of Pininfarina and captures the essence of Italy’s Dolce Vita era like few other models.

At the heart of the Fiat Dino Spider 2000 lies a 2.0-liter V6 engine, developed by Ferrari, producing 160 hp. This lively and characterful engine was also used in the early Ferrari Dino 206 models – a technical jewel dressed by Pininfarina in an elegant roadster body. Paired with a sporty 5-speed manual transmission, it delivered an exceptionally agile driving experience.

The Fiat Dino Spider 2000 stands as a prime example of the perfect blend between motorsport technology and stylish leisure driving. Its classic lines, complemented by fine details such as chrome trim, a wooden steering wheel, and leather upholstery, make it one of the most desirable vehicles of its era today.

Despite its qualities – and perhaps because of its exclusivity – the Spider remained a rare sight on the roads. Between 1967 and 1969, only around 1,133 units of the 2.0-liter Spider were produced. With the introduction of the more powerful 2.4-liter version, the "little" Spider was eventually phased out – but its charm, its sound, and its presence remain unforgettable to this day.

A Fiat with a Ferrari heart – the Dino Spider 2000 is a timeless classic of Italian automotive artistry.

History of the Fiat Dino Spider 2000 (SSC-637)
This stunning Fiat Dino Spider was first delivered to Milan in June 1968, registered under the license plate MI-F70216. In 1971, it was sold to Francesco F. from Ancona – registration AN150264. In 2013, this Spider was fully restored by the renowned Dino specialist Efferreci Service (Carlo Caselli) near Modena. A beautifully detailed restoration book documents the extensive work carried out, which was completed in 2015.

Through a dealer in Turin, this flawless Dino was sold to a German classic car collector in 2019 and has since covered a maximum of 4,000 km.

This limited usage is why the vehicle still appears as if it had just rolled off the production line. The paintwork, mechanicals, interior, and convertible top are all in outstanding, like-new condition. A 2023 appraisal rates the car as Grade 1- with a replacement value of €157,000.

A wonderful Fiat Dino Spider in excellent condition and without any maintenance backlog awaits its next owner – ready for new adventures together.

Summary
The Fiat Dino Spider is no ordinary automobile – it is a promise. A promise of Italian style, unbridled passion, and the sound of a true Ferrari heart. In an era where technology and perfection often trump character, the Dino Spider stands as an elegant rebel by the roadside, whispering: "Driving is more than transportation – it’s emotion."

With its V6 engine from Maranello and a design penned by Pininfarina, this car is a tribute to the golden age of motoring. It blends elegance with genuine sportiness, shows curves where others draw straight lines, and sounds like an Italian opera under the full moon.

Rare, desirable, and irreplaceable – the Fiat Dino Spider is not just a collector’s item, it’s a piece of Italian cultural history on wheels. And yet: As much as its value continues to rise, it longs to be driven. Open top, winding roads, a sunset somewhere in Tuscany – that’s what it was made for.

“È un’auto che fa battere il cuore” – a car that makes your heart beat faster. And that’s exactly what makes it so unforgettable.
