Car description

he luxury convertible from the house of Rolls-Royce
A highly elegant color combination
The sought-after chrome bumper version from the first series
Original left-hand-drive example
Only 3,239 units built

History

The Rolls-Royce Corniche is the most exclusive luxury grand touring convertible of its era, offering truly generous space for four passengers. It was built from 1971 until 1987. The Corniche was handcrafted in large part by the British coachbuilding specialist Mulliner Park Ward.

Equipped with a 3-speed automatic transmission, ventilated disc brakes front and rear, air conditioning, magnificent Connolly leather upholstery, beautifully crafted wood trim in the doors and dashboard, abundant chrome details, and the world-famous “Spirit of Ecstasy” mascot — also affectionately known as Emily — this Rolls-Royce still embodies the spirit of “Noblesse Oblige” with dignity to this very day.

This Rolls-Royce was by no means inexpensive, and it is therefore no surprise that only a select few among the rich, powerful, and glamorous ordered one of the 3,239 dream convertibles ever built by Rolls-Royce. Even today, the Corniche remains a statement automobile.

History of the Offered Vehicle

This Rolls-Royce Corniche belongs to the desirable first series, recognizable by its chrome bumpers and more elegant instrumentation. It was originally delivered from the factory as a left-hand-drive vehicle, presumably to the United States.

Its history remains unclear until 1990, when the Corniche was first registered in Sweden. We acquired this convertible from its second and final Swedish owner. The odometer currently shows just over 22,000 miles.

The interior and leather upholstery are in near-new condition. The wood trim, carpets, engine, suspension, and convertible top are all exceptionally well maintained and close to perfect. Only the paintwork requires improvement, which we are currently addressing — hence the limited number of photographs available at present.

The color combination is particularly refined and elegant. A fantastic and highly stylish four-seat convertible, perfectly suited for unforgettable journeys through sunny landscapes.

Important Notice

The stated mileage has been read from the odometer. Due to the age of the vehicle, the actual total mileage cannot be guaranteed.

All offers are subject to change and prior sale. Our general terms and conditions of business and delivery apply.

Prior to delivery, we offer a comprehensive technical preparation upon request. This is based on our documented internal 267-point inspection procedure, during which all relevant components — from drivetrain and suspension to functionality and detailing — are systematically inspected, serviced, and finely adjusted. This process forms the foundation of our quality standards and the long-term reliability of our vehicles.

Our automobiles are generally presented at our Classic Center in Kirchen/Sieg, where we showcase a curated selection of exceptional classic cars.

Technical development, restoration, and refinement are carried out by our sister company in Dortmund — the heart of the Scuderia Sportiva Group. Here, both factory-correct restorations and individually developed restomod signature vehicles are created through uncompromising craftsmanship. This expertise is complemented by comprehensive service support and spare parts supply for classic automobiles.

Insights into the creation of our vehicles, restoration processes, technical details, and selected test drives are shared through carefully produced film documentaries on our YouTube channel, TV Scuderia Sportiva Colonia — offering a behind-the-scenes look into our daily work.

The Scuderia Sportiva Group combines development, craftsmanship, service, and sales within a holistic approach. Our particular focus lies on Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari, and classic BMW coupés, whose preservation, advancement, and support we pursue with special expertise.

For customers in Germany, we assist with TÜV inspections including H-registration, provide valuation reports upon request, and support the complete registration process.

Transport throughout Europe is carried out in enclosed trailers. Worldwide shipping is organized through experienced international vehicle logistics partners.
