Car description

History of the Alfa Romeo GT Bertone

1963 was a significant year in automotive history. Icons were presented at the IAA in Frankfurt, such as the Porsche 901, the first Pagoda or the new Alfa Coupé. The new cars were sober, taut, harmonious and functional, and the coupés designed by Giorgio Giugiaro from the Bertone company were among the most timeless and beautiful designs from this company. Under the hood is the well-known double cam from Alfa Romeo, which made its debut in the Giulietta in 1953 and ten years later was still one of the best four-cylinder engines in the world: light metal block and cylinder head, two overhead camshafts and a solid duplex chain as a camshaft drive, plus in the In the case of the coupé, two double carburetors combined with the complex chassis and standard four disc brakes made the heart of every driver with sporting ambitions beat faster. The racing versions 1300 or 1600 GTA drove circles around the competition and even the Alfa facelift with a smoothed front end, which was missed from the end of the 1960s, did not detract from the economic success. On the race tracks, the Bertone GT collected numerous trophies, even after the end of production! Well over 200,000 units left the factory in Arese/Italy. Unfortunately, corrosion and poorly repaired accident damage took a toll on the coupés in the years that followed, and so the number of cars around the world has been significantly reduced.

Vita of the GT Junior 1300 offered here

The Alfa Romeo GT Junior 1300 offered here is one of the last coveted "edge hoods" of the first series to be built. The first registration was in Italy and until it was exported to Germany only with 2 previous owners. In 2006, this vehicle was then imported from Italy to Germany and professionally restored by the legendary Alfa Classic Center (ACC) in Dortmund. In addition to the restoration of the body, the renewal of the chassis and brakes, a 2 liter engine with a stable 131 hp was installed at the time. Over the years, the interior has also been renewed with stylish and contemporary sporty Torino seats upholstered in red genuine leather and heated seats. A shapely GTA steering wheel and GTA replica rims round off the sporty appearance. The body and the paintwork are still flawless today. The previous owner, who owned this vehicle for almost 20 years, was very "picky" and always gave this Bertone the best care. Since 2006, this coupé has always been serviced by ACC. A comprehensive folder with photos of the restoration and receipts for the service work carried out is of course part of the delivery. The history is completely understandable. This Alfa Romeo currently has German registration papers including a registration certificate as a classic car. Italian "Dolce-Vita" is guaranteed with this beautiful coupe,
