General information BMW E9

The elegant CS coupés are among the milestones from BMW - not least because of the fantastic, silky-smooth six-cylinder engine. The vehicles were built between December 1968 and December 1975 by BMW at Karmann.

The Scuderia Sportiva Colonia has paid special attention to these elegant and technically sophisticated coupés. From our point of view, these BMW sports cars deserve even more attention. The gorgeous shape, the excellent chassis, the very good brakes and the powerful engine were the measure of all things in the early 1970s. The interior spoils the owner with luxurious materials, the seats are comfortable with acceptable lateral support and the VDO instruments are a feast for the eyes. A perfect sports car to see and be seen with unmistakable DNA from its very successful touring car history.

History of the BMW 3.0 CSI offered here

The BMW E9 offered here was originally delivered in Sweden. It comes from a gigantic collection in Sweden and has spent the last 20 years there. When we bought this coupe, we were initially convinced that only small cosmetic improvements would do. But when we uncovered the underbody, we found that both the floor and the rocker panels had to be replaced. In addition, the inner fenders were restored, as well as the protective wall between the engine and the interior. One thing led to another. Bumpers were rechromed, a stainless steel exhaust system was installed, the interior was reupholstered along with the carpet and seats, and the entire car was repainted in its delivery color "polaris - metallic". 16" Alpina Style rims with matching Michelin tires and a Bilstein chassis with built-in sport springs round off the appearance. The engine and ancillary units have undergone a major inspection, and the cooler has been renewed. The compression values of the original engine are excellent, an engine & Gearbox overhaul is far from necessary, we assume that the engine has already been professionally overhauled in the past.

This beautiful CSI was originally delivered with a steel sunroof, the previous owner installed a matching wind deflector. Four power windows, antenna, blue velor equipment and color equipment were the extras of its time. We have expanded the extras with new automatic seat belts for the driver and front passenger.

Now this icon is ready again for this season and the years to come to give its new owner a lot of "Freude am Fahren".

In our view, these E9 models are still undervalued compared to Porsche F-models or Mercedes pagodas and we therefore continue to expect good upside potential.
