General information BMW E9
The elegant CS coupés belong to the milestones from BMW - not least because of the fantastic silk soft six -cylinder engine. The vehicles were built between December 1968 and December 1975 in the BMW wages at Karmann.
The Scuderia Sportiva Colonia has paid special attention to these elegant and technically mature coupés. In our view, these BMW sports cars earn even more attention. The gorgeous shape, the excellent chassis, the very good brakes and the powerful engine were the measure of all things in the early 1970s. The interior spoils the owner with luxurious materials, the seats are comfortable with acceptable lateral support and the VDO instruments are a feast for the eyes. A perfect sports car to see and seen are with unmistakable DNA from its very successful touring car history.
The M5 engine belongs in the 3.6 liter and the later 3.8 liter variant as the motor icon in the 1990s.
History of the BMW 3.0 CS offered here
The BMW E9 offered here was first delivered in 1970 in Mönchengladbach /Germany. After a short time it was resold to the Netherlands. According to the previous owner, an M motor from a BMW M5 3.6 liter (S38B36) was installed by BMW Motorsport in the 1990s. The matching 5-speed gearbox and the black box have been adapted to the circumstances of the E9 (e.g. no ABS). In addition, a front spoiler was installed, and the chassis and brakes were modified to accommodate the extra power. In the course of this conversion, the entire car was restored and fitted with a light brown leather interior. Baikal metallic is the original delivery color. Since the restoration, this real Autobahn Express has been driven about 12,000 KM. It has received several awards at various BMW exhibitions in the Benelux countries.
Today this vehicle is still in a first -class condition. The paint is flawless, the chrome is patinated. The leather interior is first class, just like the entire interior including a roof sky. The chassis and brakes work perfectly, the tires are new to 16 “inch Alpina Replika Alus.
The mileage are brutal, simply sensational. The engine does not seem to be sealed off, so that we consider driving performance of well more than 250 km/h theoretically possible. However, we did not really try the top speed. A nozzle hunter license would be an advantage for the new owner.

In our view, these E9 models are still undervalued compared to Porsche F-models or Mercedes Pagoda and we therefore expect a good potential for increasing value.
