Car description

Ferrari 330 GT 2+2

The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 originates from an era in which automobiles in Maranello were still shaped directly under the influence of Enzo Ferrari. It was a time when a Ferrari did not need to be explained – it was simply understood.

With the 330 GT 2+2, Ferrari refined this philosophy into a Gran Turismo of notable maturity. Building upon the 250 GTE, the result was not a louder car, but a more sovereign one – more cultivated in its appearance, more composed in its character.

The first series of 1964, distinguished by its characteristic twin headlamps, is widely regarded as the most original expression of the model. The body, designed by Pininfarina, is defined by its proportion and restraint – a form of timeless clarity that does not seek attention, but endures.

Power is provided by a 4.0-litre Colombo V12 – an engine that does not aim to impress, but convinces. Strong, elastic, and marked by the effortless authority that defines great Ferraris of this era.

In total, only around 1,000 examples of the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 were produced, of which approximately 625 belong to the first series. These early cars are today considered the purest interpretation of the classic Ferrari Gran Turismo.

The sound of the V12 develops with rising revs into a calm, sustained presence – not dramatic, but of quiet, almost timeless authority.

History of the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 offered here (SSC no. 241)

The example offered here was produced on May 5th, 1964, and is distinguished by an exceptionally complete and fully documented history – traceable from first delivery to the present day.

Originally delivered via Carlos Kaufmann in Caracas (Venezuela) to its first owner, Howard B., the car reflects Ferrari’s international significance even at the time of its creation.

Over the years, the car’s journey led from South America to Japan, then back to the United States, before arriving in Germany in 2008. In collaboration with renowned Ferrari expert Tom Fischer, a preservation-focused partial restoration was carried out.

Since 2014, this 330 GT 2+2 has been part of the Scuderia Sportiva Group and is currently undergoing a comprehensive restoration in-house, executed to the highest standards.

The original drivetrain is matching numbers and has been confirmed as such by Tom Fischer – a key element of authenticity and collectability.

A particularly remarkable document of this car’s history is the film
“One Car – One Story”, produced in connection with the acquisition of the previous owner, capturing the story of this Ferrari in a unique and compelling way.

Restoration Approach

The restoration of this Ferrari follows a clear principle: preservation over interpretation.

The extensive and structurally decisive bodywork has already been fully completed, forming the foundation for the final stages of the restoration at the highest level.

The intention is to return the car to its original colour combination of Bianco with black leather interior – with the understanding that a reduction to the original specification reveals the true character of the automobile.

At the same time, the future owner is offered an exceptional degree of creative scope:
based on the completed structural work, the final configuration may be determined consciously – whether by adhering to the original colour scheme or by selecting an individual combination of exterior colour and interior trim.

Each decision is made in close collaboration with our manufactory, following a clear objective: to preserve the historical substance while achieving a coherent and refined overall result.

In this way, the result is not a reinterpretation, but the precise and considered completion of a classic Ferrari.

Summary

The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 represents a time in which Ferrari did not define what a Gran Turismo should be – it embodied it.

This particular example reflects exactly that philosophy:
authenticity, substance, and a form of elegance that requires no staging.

With its documented history, matching numbers and restoration carried out to the highest standards, this is far more than just another classic Ferrari – it is a car of notable quality and credibility.

The opportunity to accompany this process and shape the final details makes this offering truly exceptional.

A Ferrari from the defining era of Enzo Ferrari –
and a Gran Turismo of timeless class.

Notice

A bespoke photo book documents all restoration work in full detail and highlights the quality of the work carried out.

In addition, selected stages of the work as well as insights into our manufactory processes can be followed via our YouTube channel “TV Scuderia Sportiva Colonia”.

Classic automobiles that are currently within our manufactory or have passed through it are rebuilt or comprehensively reworked both technically and aesthetically, following our holistic approach. All relevant components – from drivetrain and suspension to functionality, detail and overall character – as well as the body structure itself, are systematically assessed, professionally restored or, where necessary, newly rebuilt, and precisely aligned.

For automobiles originating from our manufactory, we provide a 12-month warranty, subject to all service and maintenance work being carried out by us or by one of our authorized partners.

Our automobiles are typically presented at our Classic Center in Kirchen/Sieg, where we showcase a curated selection of exceptional classic cars.

Technical development, restoration and refinement take place at our facility in Dortmund – the origin of Scuderia Sportiva. Here, within a dedicated manufactory environment, we carry out both original restorations and individually developed automobiles at the highest level.

The Scuderia Sportiva Group brings together development, manufactory, service and sales within a holistic approach, with a particular focus on classic Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari as well as BMW coupés.
