Typology

The Alfa Romeo 2600 continues the great tradition of the victorious 6 cylinder from Alfa Romeo. In 1961 the big brother of the Alfa Romeo 2000 was presented for the first time. Almost 7,000 of the large coupes were built by 1965. The body was designed and built by Bertone. The technical data: 6 cylinder in-line engine with 2 overhead camshafts, almost 2600 cc displacement, top speed of 200 km / h made every Alfisti click their tongues. It was originally designed as a luxurious, sporty upper-class coupé, but ...

History of this vehicle

... the legendary Vincenzo Fiammetta saw this car with slightly different eyes and radically built it up as a roadworthy racing car. In addition, he devoted himself to the engine (forged pistons, revised cylinder head, 3 x Weber DCOE 50 horizontal double carburettors). In addition, a racing clutch and a limited-slip differential were planted in by ZF. A sports exhaust system is also responsible for the right sound and performance. Of course, this 2600 was also weight-optimized with outrageously expensive magnesium rims from Tecnomagnesio and Makrolon rear windows. The weight has been reduced to a sensational 1070 kg through further weight optimization in the doors, bonnet and removable trunk lid. The front and rear brake discs are now perforated.

With an estimated output of 210 hp, it now offers an outstanding hp / kg ratio. Incidentally, a standard 2600 Alfa Romeo Sprint weighed 1290 kg empty and had 145 hp. Now this 2600 lives up to its nickname "Sprint". The performance is simply breathtaking, the revised engine revs fantastic and very greedily high. This car is not for people with the faint of heart, but "mucho macho" performance when this 6 cylinder is released. The hairs on the back of the neck stand up when this masterpiece is even started. A performer and eye-catcher at every classic event.

Incidentally, this vehicle also has a considerable history. This Alfa Romeo was a participant and a welcome guest at:

Targa Florio

Corsa Dell Etna

Giarra Montesalice Milo

Coppa Intereuropa Monza

Prova Challenge Siciliano

Gare Club Pergusa

Giro d'Sicilia

Currently This Alfa Romeo has current Italian papers with Italian road approval !, as well as valid FIA papers until 2026
