History of the Alfa Romeo Spider
The Alfa Romeo Spider is still a cult model today and has turned the heads of entire generations. Over the decades, the Pininfarina design studio has always been able to create a contemporary, modern look around the fantastic, pithy, sporty twin-camshaft 4-cylinder engine. This engine (called "Bialbero" in Italian) in the various displacement variants, from the initial 1.3 litre to the top 2 litre version, enchanted the Alfisti time and time again. This concept of building a beautifully designed, sporty 2-seater convertible and selling it successfully was a success from 1966 to 1993.
Vita of the Spider offered here
This Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 (Series 3) was registered for the first time on 1 August 1986. This model was called "Aerodinamica" and its front and rear spoilers reflected the 1980s obsession with aerodynamics. It was not until 1986 that the factory in Arese/Italy applied better corrosion protection. The very easy-to-read 6 instruments were centralised. The seats were also modified and given significantly improved lateral support. Over 30,000 Series 3s were built in the 2-litre version also offered here. The engine produced 127 hp in the top version and was fuel consumption-optimised thanks to electronic ignition.
Since the vehicle was first registered, its history is not 100% verifiable. The previous owner stated that he had acquired this vehicle from a private 2nd-hand owner. He himself runs a body & paint shop and put the vehicle through its paces. Hardly any rust, no badly repaired accident damage, only the paintwork needed a refresh. In 2017, he repainted this Spider in its original "blue metallic" colour. Together with its original bicolour seats, this equipment variant is not only very elegant, but also extremely rare.
In 2020, Scuderia Sportiva Colonia was allowed to acquire this Alfa Romeo and sold it immediately. The new owner occasionally drove this Alfa in proven good weather and instructed us to sell this delightful Spider again on a commission basis, as her family is now expecting an addition.
Now a 2.0 litre Spider that has always been in exemplary condition is waiting for its new owner. A rare opportunity to own an absolutely rust-free 2.0 litre Spider in a rare colour combination.
This Alfa Romeo currently has German registration papers including a registration certificate as a classic car. We are selling this beautiful Spider on behalf of a customer.
